How To Play Winning Texas Hold’em

Every single player wants to win at the Hold’em tables, but that is just not going to happen in the real world, as poker is at best a zero sum game. For each winner there is a loser, or many small losers. What separates the winners from the loser is not luck. The winners are actually not daredevils but big cowards that play it as safe as possible. For them it is not about luck at all but mostly about using mathematics to get the best odds out of each situation. The do this and play as many hands as possible with good odds and in the long run they will collect a bigger and bigger bankroll.

It’s also about choosing the right (read weak) opponents, plaing patiently and consistently. They keep a healthy bankroll and don’t play more than it allowes according to strict bankroll management rules. By doing so they can always afford an unlucky streak of losses without running out of money. Since there is no way to win all the time, they just prepare for the losses and do the best of every situation instead.

In order to cope with this, it’s important to be able to cope with losing streaks. Most players start to play more aggressively when they start to lose money, in a desperate attempt to win the money back. A good player does the very opposite – he plays tighter and for smaller stakes.

If you want to become a winning player, you must be able to master this tactic and learn how to play Texas Hold’em like a pro.
